Board President

Event & Program Coordinator, Aerial Instructor

Contact: Board.director@quircus.com

Bio: I first volunteered with Quircus at the Plumas County Fair in 2018. I had been traveling hours out of town to practice aerial silks for months, and was highly motivated to find a new venue for practicing much closer to home. I went out on a limb and met everyone at the fair, and I’m so glad that I did! The community I have found in our little local circus has been so welcoming and fun, and my skill level has improved so much more quickly once I was able to practice right here in my own town.

Since joining Quircus, I have discovered that I have skills in  acroyoga, rolla bolla (a balancing act), balloon twisting, and stiltwalking, and continue to implement those skills when I participate in Quircus events. I just love having a creative outlet that is so fun, healthy for my body, and that allows me to meet some amazing people.

Amanda “Dahlia”

Board Secretary

Contact: A.huston-mendez@quircus.com

Bio: I really enjoy the performances and wanted to be in on the movement. I really like the ideas behind Quircus, and since I have experience with being a Secretary in other organizations- this seemed like a great way to help Quircus be an expanding and organized group. I am really looking forward to seeing Quircus reach out to the community with programs that will help teach new skills and give kids and adults a safe outlet to be creative and unique.

Bio: I’ve been with Quircus since 2018. My main focus right now is fire staff, but I’ll play around with anything to have some fun! I enjoy Quircus and the way I can express myself around our little family.

Alexis “sexi lexi”

Executive Director

Contact: L.decoe@quircus.com

Bio: I’m 28 years young and I was born and raised in Bucks Lake, California. I was one of 12 residents in this very small mountain town and we had to ride snowmobiles to and from work and school. Life on top of a mountain encouraged me to try new things. I started spinning LED poi in 2013 and eventually picked up fire poi in 2015. As an 8 year old girl my friends parents would take us to High Sierra Music Festival to experience the fun. I was so mesmerized by the midnight fire show. I was instantly inspired and knew that where I wanted to be when I grew up. I joined Quircus in 2015 and fell in love with being able to perform and surround myself with other like minded folks. This last year 2022 was a huge success for Quircus, we were the fire performers for the midnight fire show at High Sierra. Being a part of Quircus has been amazing and I have learned so much professionally and artistically. My “Circus Family” has become so close over this last year, I can’t imagine life without them. Our little town of Quincy is so supportive of our Circus, and everyone gets so excited when we perform. I thrive off of the energy from the crowd and love to inspire others. Fire spinning is so much fun and takes a lot of practice, I hope to keep encouraging others to participate and to come join our Quircus!!
